how do GTC seizures present
1) tonic phase - body stiffens, epileptic cry
2) clonic - repetitive rhythmic jerks for 1-2 mins, tongue biting, incontinence
3) post ictal phase - ranges from minutes to hours; patient is tired and confused
What kind of seizure is absence
generalized
unresponsive period staring that lasts several seconds with immediate recovery afterward. Can occur several times a day and usually first diagnosed by school teachers
