Possible febrile seizure in pedi patients consider cooling techniques:

A

Remove excess clothing.
Apply cool (not cold) compress to forehead, head and/or chest. Discontinue if not tolerated.
Consider fanning or moving pt to cooler area.
DO NOT immerse in cold bath or wipe w alcohol
DO NOT place ice packs directly on skin
DO NOT induce shivering
