Pre-Eclampsia/Eclampsia protocol
Generalized Seizure Treament
Determine BGL, if abnormal, treat according to Diabetic/Glucose Emergencies
Versed 5mg IV/IO/IM/IN, repeat as needed up to 20mg
Refractory Seizure Activity Treatment
Ketamine 2mg/kg IM
Persistent Status Epilepticus Treatment
Contact OLMCP and Rapid Transport
Preferred route for Versed (Seizure)
IV, if not available, IN or IM.
Possible febrile seizure in pedi patients consider cooling techniques:
Remove excess clothing.
Apply cool (not cold) compress to forehead, head and/or chest. Discontinue if not tolerated.
Consider fanning or moving pt to cooler area.
DO NOT immerse in cold bath or wipe w alcohol
DO NOT place ice packs directly on skin
DO NOT induce shivering
