absence seizures are form of generalised epilepsy seen in children typical onset is 3-10 years. girls are more affected. what are some of the features
abscenese last a few seconds and are associated with a quick recovery. these may be provoked by hyperventilation or stress.

Mx of absence seizures
sodium valproate and ethosuximide are first-line treatment
occipital lobe seizures are characterised by flashes and floaters but also by what
accompanied by oculomotor changes such as eye-lid flickering, forced eye-shutting, and nystagmus.
contralateral side
Classical migraine aura is incorrect. Whilst migraine aura can involve flashing distortions to the vision, this is generally bilateral, not associated with oculomotor features, and is normally followed by headache.
