1 doctor and an AMHP / nearest relative
72hrs - until a s2 or s3 can be done…
- pat suffereing from mental disorder warranting this aciton
- pt a risk to themselves / others
- not enough time to get a 2nd doctor due to the risks..
section 5(2): who do you need how long what for evidence required
doctors holding power
1 doctor who is in charge of your care / one nomited by said doctor
72hrs - until s2 or s3 can be done
evidence - patient is an inpatient
section 5(4) who do you need how long what for evidence required
nurses holding power
1 nurse registered in mental health or LD nursing
6hrs - until Dr can attend a patient wanting to leave hospital
pt needs to be an inpatient
