Why do we have a code of conduct?
code of conduct explains an organisation’s values and principles, linking them with standards of professional conduct definition.
Collection of rules and regulations that include what is and is not acceptable or expected behavior.
The key features of the code of conduct are?
1- interpretation = uitleg titles/definities
2- objects = how to act (promotes & encourages the practice/study etc and bring credit to union & spiritualism)
3- advertising & promotion = no title pas
4- accreditation holders & law (observe law country working in/law of uk within trading standards and consumer protection legalisation/law relates to mediumship)
5- ethics and courtesy = beleefdheid (respect&loyalty, support snu and not pretending that they have a communication when not/charges&fees/cancellation 14 days/guardian for child)
6- snu policy = behave, integrity, courtesy, dignity and discredtion (not claim a contact/predictions/nice contact/confidential)
7- presentation = what to expect in front of an audience platform/not read prepared address
8- platform dress code = present themselves well

In what two ways should you act?

2.1 To act in a manner which promotes and encourages the practice, study and
investigation of the art, science, religion and philosophy of Spiritualism as based
upon the Seven Principles.
2.2 To act in a manner at all times to bring credit to Spiritualism and the Union.

5.6 When taking a booking accreditation-holders should advise the body how much
they charge for expenses and how much their fee will be.

5.11 When giving a private sitting to a child under the age of 18 it is required to have a
parent or legal guardian present for the benefit of both the accreditation-holder
and the child. If no such person can be present, the sitting must not proceed

When cancelling a booking how much notice should you give?

5.8 Accreditation-holders must make every effort to keep bookings: however, if it
becomes necessary to cancel a booking, they must inform the body and (if giving
less than fourteen days’ notice) they should offer a replacement if possible.

What significant change did the consumer protection from unfair trading act in 2008 make compared to the way mediums were treated under the fraudulent mediums act?
Consumer protection act 2008 means that if medium was taken to court, court have to prove the medium’s guilt, which was a change, and the medium had to show they behaved in an honest manner.
