what is cultural issues?
culture relates to society and how different parts of the world vary in term of computer and internet usage
what is the digital divide?
the term relates to the gap between those people who have access to modern digital technology and those who have limited access
what is environmental issues?
concerns the natural world and the negative impacts of producing, using and discarding computer systems and devices
what effect does e-waste have?
computers are difficult to recycle and discarded components can lead to air, land, and water pollution due to harmful materials, such as lead and mercury
what is ethics?
relates to what’s considered right or wrong
what is legal and privacy issues?
regard laws that have been introduced by the government to protect data, systems, and networks from unauthorised access
what is the data protection act 2018? (5)
a law covering:
- what can be collected
- how long it can be kept for
- steps to keep it up to date/accurate
- sending and using the data
- who can see that data

The UK law that makes it illegal to access data without authorisation (hack into a person’s computer)
