Pal-the more active you are the more cals you need than someone with a inactive life style
People trying to eat healthily will choose foods based off nutritional value
People chose food based off cost, they will generally go for a cheaper option
People will go for foods on special offer
People with a high income are more likely to buy expensive items due to their higher quality
People on lower incomes will go for the cheaper options and therefore lower quality and more processed
Some peopl lack culinary skills and will therefore avoid diffult looking recipes in case it goes wrong

Lifestyle-stressed people and bored people go for comfort food
People leading busy lives struggle to find time to cook meals
Certain Uk foods are only available at certain times of the year
People are worried due to the impact of food miles
Availiabity people are more likely to eat food thags readily available meaning they will mostly consume food from local supermarkets,however online shopping is on the rise
Special occasions are celebtrated with a larger meal
People tend to go for food they enjoy humans are generally drawn towards fatty or sweet foods

Hindu-vegetarian,however avoid harmful veg us as mushrooms and garlic-some choose to eat meat but avoid cows
Islam-food must be halal,they cannot eat pork or drink alcohol,during ramadam Muslims fast
Judaism-dietary laws stars all good must be kosher,these are animals that split hooves and have scales and fins, not allowed to eat rabbit,dairy and meat should not be cooked togther
Christianity-no strict rules,during lent they give up certain foods,during celebrations various foods are eaten
Sikhism-prohibited from eating ritually slaughtered meat,many are vegetarian,should avoid over indulging

Tv and film endorsements appeal to a set age in hopes of purchase

Companies may advertise that they are organic,have biodegradable packaging or that they’re apart of fair trade
How to make your sensory fair and unbiased
Choose enough tasters
Tasters should not be told why each sample is
Tasters should work on their own
Only small samples should be given to tasters
Sensory testing
Ranking test -foods re ranked from 1 to 4 based of charectoristics
Triangle test three products are tested one tweaks and two the same the taster has to identify which one is differnt
Paired preference test two slightly differnt of the same food are made and taster chooses their fav
Hedonic rating people rate 1-5 using a scale
Profiling testers rate certain characteristics and an Adverage is worked out can be shown on a star diagram
