- Topical mupirocin or retapamulin (mupirocin has greater activity against MRSA, bacitracin has less efficacy as a single agent)
- Oral dicloxacillin or cephalexin
- TMP/SMZ; clindamycin is sometimes useful
- Cephalosporins are safe

- Vancomycin, telavancin, linezolid, daptomycin

- Face
- Because of dilation of the capillaries of the dermis due to locally released inflammatory mediators.
- Blood cultures
- Oral docloxacillin or cephalexin
- Penicillin VK
