Smoking example
For example, there were over 10,000 smoking related deaths in Scotland in 2018.
Alcohol example
For example, alcohol related deaths for men in Scotland are nearly two times the rate for men in England.
Poor diet example
For example, 29% of Scots are obese.
Gender stereotypes explain
This means that men who hide their feelings in order to quotation marks be a man quotation marks will have poor mental health.

For example, nearly 75% of suicides in Scotland are by men.
Food security explain
This means that people who are unable to afford enough food as well as food that is nutritious – food that meets dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life – will suffer from poor health as a result.

For example, 2.9 million individuals in poverty in the UK have a low or very low food security status, meaning they are unable to access enough, varied, and/or nutritious quality food. That’s 1 in 5
Poor housing explain
This is because many health conditions such as asthma can be affected by damp or dangerous mould that is more likely to be present in poor quality homes were people may not be able to afford to keep the heating on.

For example, in 2018 found that 1 in 5 homes in England didn’t meet decent standards.
