SCAR

Responsible for directing all aircraft executing the SCAR mission
The SCAR
A three dimensional area used to facilitate the integration of joint fires
Kill box
Assumes that the approving authority meets PID and CDE when ordering the attacking aircraft to strike
SMACK
An action to prevent the adversary from using assets at the place and time of their choosing
Air interdiction
AI
Normal method of operation and we use it to hit specific targets known in advance with detailed intelligence information available to support strike planning
Preplanned AI
Targets that planners anticipate a need for AI, but they are not placed on a schedule
On-Call missions
Requests exist to respond to mission requests that unintentionally occur
Immediate AI
Can be conducted at any place and time friendly surface forces are in close proximity to enemy forces
Close air support
CAS
Planners schedule the aircraft flying the missions for a particular time or area
Preplanned CAS
Proactive method of distributing close air support that differs from the standard request driven or pull method
Push CAS
Responsible for the overall CAS mission and is the only person in the kill chain that can declare target hostile and get permission to perform CAS
Ground commander
A liaison between the ground/CC and the aircraft. Is the only person in a ground unit that may give clearance to an aircraft to release ordinance
