Define Planning
Planning is where a frm prepares for the future. This can be done via the creation of an organizationl chart which shows the duties and responsibilities of all personnel employed
Define Directing
Directing is where a firm gives instructions to employees to ensure that they know what they have to do
Define Motivitating
Motiviating is where employees are influenced to take the right action to get the tasks done
Define Delegating
Delegating refers to the sharing of responsibilities to suboordinates to ensure that the tasks are done
Define Controlling
Controlling is where the firm determines wheter or not objectives are being met by a system of appraisals and the corrective measures are taken if the objectives arent being met
Define Coordinating
Coordinating is where the functions of a firm are harmonized to ensure that all operations are integrated
Define Organizing
Organizing is where the firm ensures that everything is at the right place at the right time. This is done via pulling together resources and integrating them in a way that the goals of the organizations are met

Customers
Society
Customers - To ensure availability and production of quality goods and services as well as ensuring that pricing is competitive
Society - to operate whithin the law carrying out fair business practices as well as supporting charitable organizations to increase their image in society
What are managements responsiblities to:
Employees
Owners
Employees - To provide proper training, adequate working conditions and to maintain good relationships with staff. Adequate salaries should be given as well as incentives
Owners - Maximize Profits to ensure owners get a return on their investments. They should also not invest in any business ventures without seeking the approval of the owners
What are managements responsiblities to:
Government
Government - To abide by the law as well as pay sufficient corporation taxes. They should also ensure that accurate deductions are being made to worker’s salaries such as NIS and Income Tax.
What is an Organizational Chart:
An organizational chart is a pictorial representation which shows the structure of a firm. It is mainly used to clarify relationships between managers and employees and involves the rules, procedures and staff positions needed to conduct different aspects of the business.

What is an autocratic leadership style
Autocratic leadership style is where management does the thinking and gives responsibilites to suboordinates and decision making is done whithout suboordinates
What is laissez-faire leadership style
Laissez Faire leadership style is where the leader does little to no work and leaves the work for the group to do without his participation. This leadership style can usually only work with highly motivated and skilled personnel
What is a democratic leadership style
Democratic leadership style is where the leader makes decision while consulting a team but still keeping control of the team. The leader and group will join together in the actions
What are some internal sources of conflict
Competition for promotions or ratings
Different workers may share different ideas

Lock Out- This is where employers instruct workers who take industrial action to stay home and they are banned from the premises
Scab Labour - Where workers may be taking industrial action, employers will hire temporary workers to replace those taking action
What is picketing and stirking
Picketing - This is where workers gather in front of the business to discourage others from entering
Strike - This is where workers boycott working activities and stay home thus decreasing efficiency in the business

Work to rule - This is where workers intentionally only work to what is stated on their job description
Go slow - This is where workers intentionally work slow without breaching company regulations thus decreasing efficiency for the business
