KOMIAS “And [greetings] to you too, Euergides.”
What a big crowd!
ἀλλὰ τίς ἐστι οὑτοσί;
But who is this?
οὐ δήπου Στρυμόδωρος ὁ γείτων;
It’s not really our neighbour Strymodoros, is it?
Yes, by Zeus, it is indeed the man himself.
Oh what luck!
But I did not expect to meet Strymodoros spending his time in the lawcourt, since he is a young man and without experience in judicial matters.

E U. Why don’t you call him over here?

K O M. A good suggestion (you speak well) and we will call him. Strymodoros, Strymodoros!

(He is pushed by a juror who is holding his tunic.)
οὗτος, τί βουλόμενος ἐλάβου τοῦ ἐμοῦ ἱματίου;
You, what did you mean by holding my tunic?
To hell with you! (May you perish!)
Εϒ. εὖ γε.
E U. Well done. Sit down.
