how do you maintain good personal hygiene?
brush teeth, floss, use mouthwash, and bath daily, use unscented deodorant, clean your hair
what are the standards of behavior?
be courteous, listen carefully (patient is your boss), monitor patients efficiently, don’t gossip, don’t horseplay, don’t swear, correct hazards, and follow safety procedures
what are personal characteristics you need to be a healthcare worker?
be empathetic, honest, dependable, willing to learn, patient, tact, open to criticism, enthusiastic, competent, discrete, responsible, a team player, positive, and have integrity
what body language should you display?
make eye contact, keep eyes at same level as patient, smile, have an open stance, give your full attention to patient, and keep your hands away from your mouth
why is it important to maintain confidentiality of a persons medical records?
because if the records get out, it could damage a the person’s reputation or financial well being, and the healthcare worker will get punished
what is required in many healthcare positions?
continuing education credits (CEUs)
