Q

Explain the process of forming the flood plains

A
  1. When a river floods onto the flood plain the water slows down and deposits the eroded material, which builds up the flood plain
  2. Meanders migrate across the flood plain, making it wider
  3. The deposition that happens on the slip off slopes of meanders also build up the flood plains
