What is RIBA?
Royal Institute of British architecture.
A optional membership that encourages the development and education of architecture.
What is ARB?
Architecture registration board.
An obligatory registration for any qualified, practicing architects. In place to protect the client and maintain a high standard of profession.
What is the Architect Act 1997?
The Act that is in place to protect the profession name.
What are the three main ARB codes of conduct?
To Act with integrity
To Act with competence
To Act with diligence
What happens if the there is failure to comply with the codes of conduct?
Disciplinary procedure with potential removal of the architecture name depending on the circumstances

What is the Duty of Care?
The legal bound Act of acting diligently and professionally with the client to avoid harm and maintain wellbeing.
How is an architect legally bound to provide a Duty of Care?
By the Contract law of acting as the clients Agent
