What is obesity?
a complex disease involving an excessive amount of body fat, classified by a body mass index of 30 or greater.
what is the body mass index (BMI) of someone who is obese?
obese individuals have a BMI of 30 or greater.
what body mass index is considered overweight?
someone who is overweight will classify as a BMI of 25.0- 29.9
what does it mean for someone to be determined as “deconditioned?”
the individual has lost physical fitness (characterized by muscle imbalances, decreased flexibility followed by a lack of core and joint stability.)
what is Morbidity?
the state of having a disease
what is one of the most successful preventative medicines?
staying physically fit and eating healthy
