Q

Name 3 causes of secondary hyperparathyroidism?

A
  1. chronic kidney disease
  • impaired phosphate secretion
  • high phosphate –> high PTH
  • reduced vit D -> reduced calcium reabsorbtion –> High PTH
    2. Vitamin D deficiency
    3. Malnutrition
