Definition of Scale

A
  • Abnormality of the upmost layers of skin (stratum corneum) leading to the formation of heaped up particles of the epidermis on the surface
  • Note colour & nature
  • Absence of scaling implies no pathology in the epidermis (dermis and subcutaneous tissue only)
