Name and describe a monogenic cause of diabetes
A
MODY (maturity-onset diabetes of the young). Autosomal dominant
It is the development of T2DM under age 25. Very sensitive to treatment with sulphonylureas

What are the clinical features of MODY?
A
Often presents with mild non-ketotic hyperglycaemia.
Patient’s don’t tend to present with DKA however they are also often normal weight and do not show signs of insulin resistance
