Second semester Flashcards
Differential Reinforcement
- Two of more physically different behaviours occurring in one situation are involved
- One behaviour is reinforced
- The other behaviour(s) are extinguished
Stimulus Prompts
Involves some change in a stimulus or the addition or removal of a stimulus, to make a correct response more likely
Extra Stimulus
Adding more stimulus
Within Stimulus
Making correct response more noticeable
Prompt Fading
learner learns to respond to SD/instruction without help
How to use reinforcement
Deprivation
Size
Contingency
Immediately
Differential Reinforcement of Other Behaviours (DRO)
Reinforcing the absence of the problem bx during intervals of time
Differential Reinforcement of Incompatible Behaviours (DRI)
Alternative behaviour is physically incompatible w/ the problem bx, (they both can’t happen at the same time)
Differential reinforcement of Alternate Behaviours (DRA)
Reinforcing a desireable bx and eliminating an undesirable one
Differential Reinforcement of Low Rates of Behaviour (DRL)
Reinforcement is delivered contingent on a lower rate of responding during a period
Prompting
Increasing the future probability of a response
Graduated Guidance
Providing physical prompting only when needed
Shadowing
Following a student closely without touching as a means of providing prompts as soon as there’s an error in the response
Prompt delay
Wait after presenting stim if individual doesn’t respond correctly
Most to least
Providing a full prompt to complete the target behaviour and decrease level of prompting
