Statement of WorkStatement of Work (SOW):
–Narrative description of product, service, or information system
–For internal projects, ties business needs to specific requirements of the project
–For external projects, may include specifications, quantities, quality standards, and performance requirements sent to prospective bidders
–Included in Request For Proposal (RFP), Request For Information (RFI), or Request For Bid (RFB)
Scope Statement:
– Defines the Scope Boundary
– Documents sponsor’s needs and expectations
Scope Statement MUST:
Explicitly document items out of scope
Statement of work (SOW) is
a narrative description of what will be produced.
