revolution

Rotation
A spinning motion of an object
Rotation Axis
the line on which an object rotates
Solistice
A day when earths rotation axis is angled the most toward or away from the sun; summer and winter
equinox
a day when earths rotation is angled along earths orbit, neither toward not away from the sun; fall and spring
phase
the portion of the moon or a planet reflecting light as seen from earth
waxing phases
during these phases more of the moons near side is lit each night
waning phases
during these phases, less of the moons near side is lit each night
solar eclipse
when the moons shadow appears on the earths surface; the sun appears to get covered up
lunar eclipse
occurs when the moon moves into the earths shadow; the moon appears to get covered up
tide
the daily rise and fall of sea level caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun
spring tide
when the difference between high and low tide water is the greatest
neap tide
when the difference between high and low water is the smallest
