Search Flashcards
Strategic Level Activities are:
Size-up (facts of the situation, understanding the probabilities, developing situational awareness, making a decision, formulate an action plan).
Tactical level activities are:
size up: are there victims? how many? where? are they mobile? Where will fire extention likely take place? Is there potential for collapse? Where are the hazards now and where will they be in 5 minutes? Building considerations:type, size, height, incident floor, condition.
Task level activities are:
Search techniques designed to help firefighters perform a systematic search of a structure.
Fundimental search principles include:
Systematically clearing compartments.
Stretch into a room every 2m.
If search is interrupted for any reason, make note of where the search is left so it can be resomed.
