Business process

Function oriented business process

Cross functional process
The manager is responsible for the entire process

Aims at being broad and cross functional in scope
—> because of division of labour individuals are bored (repetition routine, only one task to focus on )

1-very high product and mix flexibility
2-high variety of tasks for staff
Disadvantages:
1-very high unit cost
2-scheduling Space and activities can be difficulte

Ex: library
Advantages:
1-high product and mix flexibility
2-easy to supervise
Disadvantages:
1-can have very high WIP (work in progress)
2-complex flow
