Blockage of dentine tubules- desensitisation and arrest of lesion

Why is SDF useful in caries detection?
Only stains carious tooth tissue
-> Can show what parts needed removed during preparation of cavity
How long should it take to apply SDF?
3 min- minimum of 1 min
What occurs when following up after placement of SDF? (after 2-4 weeks)
If lesion still active- reapply
If lesion inactive- restore
If unrestorable- biannual SDF reapplication
