A

The treaty promised that Edward I would respect the borders between England and Scotland and each country would remain separate. Scottish laws, customs, rights and freedoms would be preserved. The Scottish church would remain free from the English church (many historians believe Edward had no intention of claiming over lordship at this time but he did seize the isle of man while agreeing to the treaty)
