A

The organ to the left of the pancreas is the small intestine, and the first part of it is called the duodenum. The organ to the right of it is called the pancreas, which produces enzymes that help to complete chemical digestion. Chemical digestion could not be completed without these enzymes, so the small intestine would not be able to absorb nutrients.
