Glenfiddich
A
- Founded in 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown.
- It has remained in the ownership of his descendants ever since.
- Produces the world’s best-selling malt whisky.
- Glenfiddich means “The valley of the deer”.
- Everything from malting to bottling is done in the house.
- They still have their own cooperage and coppersiths.
- There are now 29 stills, producing 10 milion litres of whisky a year.
- One in every three bottles of malt whisky sold in the world in a bottle of Glenfiddich.
- Core range: 12yo, 12yo Caoran (a smoky expression), 15yo, 18yo, 21yo, 30yo, 50yo + ltd editions.

A
- Light speyside style of a new-make, floral, fruity, estery.
- The younger mature whisky has a pinesap freshness, and sometimes a light steam-smokiness.
- The taste is sweet throughout, with citric, floral and cereal notes.
- Light-bodied and highly accessible.
- Older expressions add richness and complexity.
