Auchentoshan
A
- Founded in 1800.
- The only distillery that continues the traditional Lowland practice of “triple-distillation”.
- It was bombed during WWII.
- Nicknames: “Auchie”, “The Glasgow Malt”.
- Range: Classic (no age statement), 12yo, 18yo, 23yo, Three Wood and occasional ltd editions.

Auchentoshan - Tasting Note
A
- Delicate, fruity and zesty as a new-make.
- With a floral fragrant, light cereal and citric nose when mature.
- Smooth mouth-feel, sweet, then dry with roast almonds, fruits and butterscotch.
- Short finish.

Glenkinchie
A
- Founded in 1837 by the Rate Brothers, beef farmers who grew and malted their own barley.
- Today is promoted as one of Diageo’s “Classic Malts” and bottled at 12 Years.
- It won a gold award in the 1993 IWSC.
- Visitor centre includes a detailed model, made in 1924, of a malt whisky distillery.

Glenkinchie - Tasting Note
A
- Big and meaty as new-make.
- The mature whisky is grassy and lemony.
- The aroma is “rural” - meadows, hedgerows, cows - with a hint of smoke.
- The taste is fresh, starting lightly sweet and finishing dry, and very short.
- Light in character, with a medium-body.
