Q

Explain the major changes that occurred as a result of the scientific revolution? How do you think Europe changed as a result?

A

The major change that occurred as a result of the scientific revolution was the earth’s shape and where it was. The earth was believed to be in the center and was flat, but was later discovered to be round and the sun was in the center. The overall change was the impact the church had– the church’s beliefs began to become questioned as more people developed truthful answers.

Q

What ideas introduced during the Scientific Revolution do you feel are most significant in science today? Why?

A

The proof and idea of the Earth circling the sun was the most beneficial to modern science because it led us to a whole new ideology of space exploration. This led to the understanding of night and day, and even for us to get to predict and experience the solar eclipse.

Q

Describe how each scientist added to the ideas of those before them. How might they have influenced future scientists?

A

Scientists had heard about a discovery and asked their own questions following that discovery. These included “Why?” “Is it true?” and these led to them concluding that they were either right or wrong. This could’ve influenced future scientists by allowing them to push against outside ideas and focus on their own, as well as being able to prove and back up their discoveries.

Q

Which world might have been better to live in: Before the Scientific Revolution or after? Give specific reasons for your choice.

A

After because before, the church ruled and controlled everything. When people constantly questioned things then, it led to them hiding for the rest of their lives (Galileo Galilei) due to the fear inplaced. Now, we have the freedom to explore and explain everything before us without being harmed.
