Static Electricity
Imbalance of positive and negetive charges
Current
The flow of electrons

How much energy the electron carries
Resistance
How much it tries to stop the energy from flowing to the load, if there’s been too much given too the load and would turn it into heat energy.
Parallel Circuits
There’s more than one way to go and it can decide at the junction which splits the branches apart. For example; holiday lights- if one goes out then all of them don’t go out, so that’s because it’s a parallel circuit and their not all connected.
Series Circuits
There’s only one way to go. For example; holiday lights- if one goes out then the whole lights are gone, cause their all connected, so if theirs ever a gap then electrons can’t, so the whole circuit doesn’t function anymore.
Conductors & Insulators
Conductor- Something that lets electricity pass through it easily eg. metal, copper, alluminnium.
insulator- Something that doesn’t let electricity pass through it eg. rubber, plastic, wood.
Why is a battery better than a main?
Why is a main better than a battery?
Because a battery is portable
But a mains is more reliable
What’s the purpose of a resistor?
Opposes and limits the flow of current/ electricity
The rule for electricity?
It cannot be created or destroyed only can be changed
What’s a variable resistor?
A variable resistor lengthens the wire and the longer the wire the more the resistance.
What does the blue wire do?
What does the yellow an green wire do?
What does the brown wire do?
The blue wire is neutral and it’s job is to complete the circuit.
The yellow and green wire is the earth wire and if there’s too much electricity then the earth wire takes the electricity to the ground.
The brown wire is the live wire and it is the wire that travels all the electricity and the most dangerous.
What is a fuse?
A fuse melts if there’s too much electricity going through the wire.
What is a circuit beaker?
A circuit beaker is in the mains and each room has its own circuit beaker and so it can control each room and so if a room is having some electrical issues the switch automatically flips.
