science test behaviour Flashcards
what are the ways of learning
imitation, practice, insight, reward and punishment.
4 main emotions
Happy, sad, angry, scared ( every emotion trace back to these 4 basic emotions )
non verbal communication.
communciaton without words / information is exchenged without using words but through facial expressions or body language.
examples of parasitism
a tick biting a dog. The tick gets food while the dog is hurt and gets an infection.
innate behaviour
is when an organism doesnt need to learn something, or is already partly learned.
observation and interpretation
observation is when you just see what an organism is doing but not the reason or motivation behind it. While an interpretation is trying to find out what this type of behaviour means.
insight
trying to find solutions to a problem without any assistance or help.
social behaviour
social behaviour is the way a member of a certain species behaves to another member of the same species.
example of verbal and non verbal communcation
” Im feeling scared “ :: your eyes turn big and anxious and you start sweating. You start making a scared face and are fiddling with your hands.
chain of behaviour
is when these interrelated actions have a fixed sequence, with one action leading to the next.
what is symbiosis
Symbiosis is when individuals of different species are able to maintain long term relationships with eachother.
what is motivation ?
is your willingness to behave in various situations. After eating food your motivation of eating will be very low.
3 types of symbiosis
Mutualism ( when species 1 gains something from species 2 and species 2 also gains something++) , commensalism( when species 1 gains something but species 2 is neither hurt or harmed +0), parasitism ( when the host is harmed by the parasite +-)
Stimulus
a stimulus is an influence from the surroudings of an organism. Your senses react to your stimuli by passing impulses to your brain, then the impulses are transmitted to your muscles. The reaction you give is called a response.
learned behaviour
is when an organism need to learn to be able to do something and doesnt know how to execute it unless it it taught or learned.
What is a signal
A signal is an action or a stimulus in social behaviour.
reward and punishment
When you learn that good behaviour is rewarded and bad behaviour leads to a punishment.
examples of mutaulism
when a bird plucks out ticks from a deer, the bird get food and the deer gets cleaned.
What are norms and values
Values are things that people find important in life while norms are just rules of conduct people think you should follow. Norms are bases of values.
practice
repeating an action to improve or get better at it.
what is behaviour ?
Behaviour is organisms consists of actions that are interrelated and have a goal.
examples of commensalism
when a bird sits on a cow. The bird gets a place to sit and nothing happens to the cow.
define verbal communcation
Communication with words / Information is exchanged by using your words.
what is imitation
is when you learn throuh copying someone else
Types of stimuli and examples
internal stimuli ( being hungry ), external stimuli ( looking at food and getting motivation to eat.)
