Mineral
A substance made in nature that has a definite chemical makeup, crystal structure, and solid.
Element
A part or aspect of something abstract, especially one that is essential or characteristic.
Crystal
A solid with atoms arranged in a very ordered construct.
Streak
A long, thin line or mark of a different substance or color from its surroundings.
Luster
a gentle sheen or soft glow, especially that of a partly reflective surface.
Cleavage
A way of breaking when a mineral has all flat edges on it’s broken off surface.
Fracture
The cracking or breaking of a hard object or material.
Density
A closely set or crowded condition.
Hardness
The quality or condition of being hard.
Magma
A mixture of molten or semi-molten rock.
Lava
Magma that has come out of the Earth’s crust.
Ore
A mineral or rock that is in an abundant and can be mined for profit.
Biosphere
The part of the Earth’s crust, waters, and atmosphere that supports life.
Hydrosphere
The water on or surrounding the surface of the globe.
Atmosphere
The gaseous envelope surrounding the Earth.
