What is the balanced chemical equation for photosynthesis?
6CO2 + 6H2O => C6H12O6 + 6O2
How would rising carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere affect photosynthesis? Would the effects be positive or negative?
The effects would be positive because there would be much more energy for the plants to make from this carbon dioxide
What is the importance of ocean acidification?
Harms creatures sensitive to acidity, and creatures carbonate based shells or skeletons and therefore harms the food chain ect.
What is the balanced chemical equation(s) for ocean acidification?
CO2 (g) + H2O (l) => H2CO3 (aq)
AQUEOUS!!!!!!
How are ozone molecules destroyed naturally?
ozone absorbs much of the suns UV-B rays, splitting back into molecular and atomic oxygen
What is the equation for natural ozone depletion?
O3 + UV-B => O2 + O
what is the equation for ozone creation
O2 + UV-C => 2O and this O + O2 => O3 + heat
what is the equation for man made eozone depletion
Cl + O3 => ClO + O2 and this ClO + O => Cl + O2
How are ozone molecules destroyed unnaturally
High energy uv radiation breaks apart CFC’s. Chlorine is released from them and then they react with ozone molecules, taking one oxygen atom to form chlorine monoxide and leaving the other oxygen molecule. And then when the chlorine monoxide encounters a single oxygen it breaks up and then you have a single chlorine atom and O2. The chlorine atom can then repeat the process.
