rotate
To turn on an axis. Earth rotates.
axis
An imaginary line that goes through the center of an object. Earth turns on its axis.
revolve
To travel in a circular path. Earth revolves around the sun.
orbit
The circular path that something takes. Earth’s orbit around the sun is almost a perfect circle.
equator
An imaginary line that goes around the middle of a planet.
moon
A natural body that revolves around a planet
moon phase
There are eight of them. They describe how the shadows fall on the moon as it revolves around the Earth.
crater
A bowl-shaped impression left over from something hitting something else. Example: The moon is covered in craters.
eclipse
When one object in space passes through the shadow of another object in space
star
The sun is a star, a huge ball of very hot gas in space.
solar system
It is made up of a stars and all the planets and other objects that revolve around that star.
universe
Everything that exist all the stars , planet,dust gases ,and energy
galaxy
It is gas, dust , and a group of stars including any objects orbits around the stars.
