It is under the ocean, and it’s not too deep. Most sea life is found here.
continental slope
The part under the ocean that drops down from the continental shelf
abyssal plain
It’s the deepest part of the ocean. It’s flat, and there isn’t much life here.
wave
They are found on the surface of the ocean. They move up and down. They are mostly caused by wind.
current
Like rivers in the ocean. They are faster moving water.
tides
When the level of the ocean water moves up or down on the beach. They are caused by pull of the moon’s gravity (mostly). The sun’s gravity has a smaller effect.
shore
Where the ocean meets the land

A rocky point that sticks out into the water
tide pool
A pool of water that is left behind when the tide goes out. Living things like to live in tide pools.
jetty
It’s a man-made thing that is made to block waves
What Jetty main purpose?
