What is Gas Exchange?

• the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide:
  ~ between the atmosphere and the blood
  ~ between the blood and the body’s cells.

• the action or capacity of smelling
• molecules are released by substances around us
• when molecules enter your nostrils, they can stimulate receptors (on the olfactory sensory neurons in the back of the nose)
• those neurons send messages to your brain, which identifies the smell.
