SCI Exam Flashcards
Neurological Level
Lowest segment where there is intact sensation & antigravity motor function (greater/equal to 3) provided there is normal motor & sensory function rostrally
Motor Level
Level where muscle grade is 3 & next rostral level is grade 5
Sensory Level
- lowest level where sensation is normal
- in TS motor level=Sensory level
Minimal Detectible Changes–Chronic (motor, sharp/dull, light touch)
Motor: 1 point
Sharp/Dull: 7.8 points
Light Touch: 12.95 points
Minimal Detectible Changes–Acute (motor, sharp/dull, light touch)
UE Motor: 2 points
Sharp/dull: 5.9 points
Light Touch: 4.1 points
ASIA: A
- Complete motor and sensory
- no motor/sensory below and absent in sacral segments S4-5
ASIA: B
- Sensory incomplete (motor complete)
- sensory preserved below neurological level and includes sacral segments AND
- NO motor below 3 levels below motor level on either side
ASIA: C
- Motor Incomplete
- Motor preserved below neurological level
- > 1/2 Muscles less than 3/5
ASIA: D
- Motor Inomplete
- motor preserved below neurological level
- > 1/2 muscles over 3/5
ASIA: E
Normal
ASIA: prime predictor of outcome
