What were schools like before 1933
All children under the age of 14 were required to go to school,after that it was voluntary
Boys and girls went to separate schools and school were run by local councils with little guidance from the government.

Schools were brought in line with Nazi beliefs and policies,

Children were not allowed free time without Nazi influence,
School days were made longer and children were encouraged to attend the Nazi youth afterwards
This took children away from the influence of their parents.
Control of the new Nazi schools
These aimed to train the new leaders of Germany
Pupils were specially tested for a place in this school.
These schools would not be taught by teachers but by selected member of the SS and the SA and the students would be sent to military or police training afterwards
New curriculum subjects
Race studies-children were taught how to identify different races and were taught how the aryan race was superior and how they shouldn’t mix with inferior races.
Eugenics-the study of how to produce the perfect offspring with two aryan parents.
