Gobblels and Hitler use this as an excuse to increase the violence against the Jews, Nazis officers were told to attack Jews in there homes and synagogues but do it undercover and not in their uniforms. This made it look like the German citizens were the ones fighting them not the Nazis.

Gangs smashed and burned Jewish property all over Germany, many Germans were horrified but some were pleased and joined in. Official Nazi figured state that 814 shops, 171 homes and 191 synagogues were destroyed and it was stated that 100 Jews died
