A

Any place where it is believed an offence has been committed and evidence (whether intangible or tangible) can be obtained to support an investigation

A

The information on any known events that may have occurred after the incident and may have altered the scene in any way
E.g. staff moving through the house to assist a victim, a body being moved to ascertain signs of life

How should stepping plates be cleaned?

A

While wearing gloves:

  • Hosing them down
  • Soaking in diluted 10% bleach solution for 10 minutes then rinse with water
  • Dry the plates prior to repackaging

Which circumstances must a deceased person remain clothed before being transported?

A
  • Homicide or suspicious death
  • Aviation fatalities
  • Diving fatalities
  • Workplace fatalities
  • All severely decomposed persons where removal of the clothing may constitute a biohazard
  • All other cases where the forensic pathologist has requested the deceased remains clothes
  • If hanging/ligature strangulation, the ligature must remain in situ on the deceased or separately accompany the deceased
