What is an open source file types
A file format which any company can use without permission. Using this file format means you can have different Art software and you can still read / open the file
what is a proprietary file type
A file type owned by a company so only that company can use that file type eg Photoshop PSD. You must have a specific piece software to open the file.

What is the benefit of cropping an image
Can just have the part of the image which you want and remove parts which may distract you from the main bit
What is the benefit of re-sizing an image
You can make the important part larger so more effective
What is the benefit of recoloring an image
The company may want a specific colour scheme so changing the colour can make it match it.
What is the benefit of rotating an image
The image may not be upright or you may want some to fit a certain space and rotating the image makes this possible
Why would Richard export files in an open source file format
You do not need a specific piece of software to open the file. This means staff at head office can view the file with the piece of software they have installed on their machines.

How does a password protect a file from theft
Unless some one knows your username and password they cannot log on as you and access a file
How does encrypting a file protect a file from theft
If you view the file it will be meaningless, unless you have the encryption key which will decode the file so it makes sense
How does a network key protect a file from theft
People cannot use the WiFi network unless they have the network key so they cannot access any devices which are attached to the network eg the file server printer etc,
How do access rights protect a file from theft
Access Rights can be No Access (Student Access to Staff Area), Read Only (Student Access to Shared ICT) or Read Write access (Student access to files in their user area) This means some files such as payroll or new characters can only be viewed or altered by certain staff.
How does a firewall protect a file from theft
Programs on the internet cannot access the computer behind the firewall unless they have permission. The same is true for programs on the computer access the internet.,

In a meeting would use hard copies of new characters or at show they could be on flyers to be given out to people to advertise the characters.

3G has low bandwidth so possibly poor image quality along with the cost for the use of data

Richard posts his diary events which other people can read to find out what he has been doing and photographing

Facebook with lots of friends where he can post images and write about what he is doing along with private messaging some people.
Also Twitter which people can “Follow” him with his messages, follow links to images and follow his #tags
Issue of open WiFi and video conferencing
Open Wifi could have low bandwidth so image/sound quality poor and other people could watch the conversation
Issue of Wireless key WiFi (SSID) and video conferencing
Should be better bandwidth than Open WiFi but bandwidth may only be good enough for a small screen and not good sound
All staff at Animated World books head office are thinking of using Laptop computers. Give 3 features of a laptop computer.
Portable, run son battery so no need to be permanently connected to mains. Can take the computer home with them and continue with work at home or on train or elsewhere in the world with the file stored on that machine for security.
Problem of proprtiory file types
If you have not got the software which created the proprietary file format you cannot open/edit the file.
What is the benefit of using an eye dropper an image
You can pick the exact colour you require for a particular task
Wired network advantage
Fastest connection - highest bandwidth - send data quicker than other methods
Wired disadvantage
Have to be able to plug into the network and there may not be any connections or spare ones
wireless Network advantage
Wireless Advantage as long as close to the router you can use the connection and you can move around and still use it.

What are the disadvantages of bitmap graphics
zoom in and can see individual pixels, larger file size than vector
wireless network disadvantage
If too far from the router connection may stop working and connection speed is not as fast as a cable /wire connection
