Backpack Harness and Frame
Cylinder latch and strap secured
Inspect backpack for cracks, breaks, and excessive wear.
Check straps and buckets for wear, tears, frays, cuts or damaged stitching.
Check lights for battery function (Amber LED on the back pass flashes every 10 seconds along with an audible beep to indicate a low battery.)
Air Cylander
Change if below 4000 PSI
Inspect for nicks, cuts, gouges, and delamination
Check valve assembly for damage
Check air pressure indicators on each side of the cylander valve. The PSI should read within 500 PSI of each other.
First stage regulator
Check for snug connection of fitting at cylinder valve.
Check high pressure hose for damage.
Hose and fittings
Check all hoses for cracks, tears, deformity, and kinks
Second stage regulator
Close red bypass valve and fully depress shutoff button on top of second stage regulator
Check regulator assembly for cracks, wear, and debris
Check gray release buttons, make sure they are in good condition and function properly.
Make sure heads up display is clean and LED readout is fully visible.
Face Piece
Lens should be clean and clear, visibility should not be impaired.
Inspect for lens deformity and heat checking.
Inspect nose cone for cleanliness, tears, and proper installation.
Check face piece skirt and head for net tears, cuts, and pliability.
Heads up display viewing ports should be clear.
Check inlet and exhalation port for cleanliness.
Voice Amplification System
Check for proper installation and secure attachment.
Check for clean speaker.
Turn on and check LED.
Blinking amber LED indicates a low battery.
Replace with three AAA batteries if necessary.
PASS device / Air gage
Inspect gage for clear lense.
Check housing for cracks.
Manually activate PASS
Listen for ascending tone until full alert tones.
Order of LED lights should be green, green and red, and then red at full alert.
Two clicks of yellow button will shut off.
