Q

Deltoid - PA, DA, N/S and Action

A

PA = Lateral third of clavicle, acromion and spine of scapula

DA = Deltoid tuberosity of humerus

N/S = Axillary nerve

Action = Anterior - Flexes and medially rotates the Arm

Middle part - abducts arm

Posterior - extends and laterall rotates arm

Q

Teres Major - PA, DA, N/S and Action

A

PA = posterior surface of inferior angle of scapula

DA = medial lip of the intertubercular groove

N/S = lower subscapular nerve

Action - adducts and medially rotates the arm

Q

Which muscle of the rotator cuff isnt a rotator of the humerus?

A

All muscles except the supraspinatus rotates the humerus, it only abducts the humerus.

Q

Supraspinatus - PA, DA, N/S and Action

A

PA = Supraspinous fossa of scapula

DA = Superior facet of greater tubercle of humerus

N/S - Suprascapular nerve

Action - Initiates and assists deltoid in abduction of arm, stablises GH joint

Q

Infraspinatus - DA, PA, N/S and Action

A

PA = Infraspinous fossa of scapula

DA = Middel facet of the greater tubercle of the humerus

N/S - Suprascapular nerve

Q

Subscapularis - PA, DA, N/S and Action

A

Q

“The lady sits between two majors”, what is this a trick for?

A

This is a trick to remember which muscles attach to the intertubercular groove.

The lady are the lats and the major is the teres major to the medial lip and the pec major to the lateral lip.
