Scapulohumeral (Intrinsic shoulder) Flashcards
What is the insertion of the deltoids?
deltoid tuberosity of humerus
What are the origins of the deltoids?
Lateral third of clavicle, acromion, & spine of scapula
What innervates the deltoids?
Axillary nerve (C5, C6)
What are the actions of the deltoids?
Clavicular (anterior): part flexes & medially rotates shoulder joint
Acromial (middle): abducts shoulder joint
Spinal (posterior): extends & laterally rotates shoulder joint
What is the origin of supraspinatus?
Supraspinous fossa of scapula
What is the insertion of suprapinatus?
Superior facet of greater tubercle of humerus
What innervates supraspinatus?
Suprascapular nerve (C4, C5, C6)
What are the actions of supraspinatus?
Abducts shoulder to first 15 degrees
What is the origin of infraspinatus?
Infraspinous fossa of scapula
What is the insertion of infraspinatus?
Middle facet of greater tubercle of humerus
What innervates infraspinatus?
Suprascapular nerve (C5, C6)
What are the actions of infraspinatus?
Laterally rotate shoulder joint & help hold humeral head in glenoid cavity of scapula
What is the origin of teres minor?
Middle part of lateral border of scapula
What is the insertion of teres minor?
Inferior facet of greater tubercle of humerus
What innervates teres minor?
Axillary nerve (C5, C6)
