  • inf to clavicle so hard to palpate
  • doesn’t do much; rarely has problems

Origin- costochondral jnct of rib1
Insertion- inf surface of clavicle

Innervation- Subclavian C5-6
Actions- acts as fixator for clavicle, depresses lat end to draw shoulder down/forwards

A

Origin- outer surfaces and sup borders of upper 8-9 ribs and intercostal fascia
Insertion- costal surface of med border of scapula

Innervation- Long Thoracic L5-7

Levator Scapulae

A

Origins- transverse processes of C1-4 (sits lat)
Insertion- med border scapula between sup angle and med end of scapular spine

Innervation- Dorsal Scapula C4-5
Other actions- side flex/ext of neck, resists depression if weight in hand
