O: *spines and supraspinous ligaments of C7-T1
*Lower part of ligamentum nuchae

I: medial end of spine of scapula

D:

A: retracts and medially rotates scapula

N: dorsal scapular nerve (C4,5)

Trapezius

A

O: *medial third of superior nuchal line

 * External occipital protuberance
 * Ligamentum nuchae 
 * Spinous processes
 * Supraspinous ligaments of C7-T12

I: Upper fibres- posterior border of lateral third of clavicle
Middle fibres- *medial border of acromion *Superior lip of crazy of spine scapula
Lower fibres - tubercle at medial end of spine of scapula

D:

A:upper fibres- elevate scapula
Middle fibres- retract scapula
Upper and Lower fibres together- laterally rotate scapula, extend and laterally flexes head and neck

N: accessory nerve (6), ventral rami (C3,4)

Levator scapulae

A

O: transverse processes of C1-C3/4

I: medial border of scapula between superior angle and base of spine

D:

A: *elevates, medially rotates and retracts scapula
*Extends and laterally flexes neck

N: ventral rami (C3,4), dorsal scapular nerve (C5)
