Q

What is the fracture path of the Type III Le Fort fracture?

16
Q

What are the sutures of the newborn calvaria?

A

sagittal, coronal, lambdoid

17
Q

What is the Galea aponeurotica?

A

it is a tendinous sheath that goes over the calvaria b/w the frontalis & occipitalis muscles.

18
Q

What is Caput succedaneum?

A

severe edema as a result of birth passage. This is above the galea & below the skin.

19
Q

Subgaleal hemorrhage–where is this found?

A

This is deep to the galea

20
Q

What’s the deal w/ Cephalhematoma?

A

This bleeding occurs & lifts the periosteum up too! Almost all the layers lifted up, except the bone itself
**with this one you can injure the sutures b/c it occurs below the periosteum

21
Q

What can give you spastic diplegia?

A

an intracranial hemorrhage (plial hemorrhage)

22
Q

Does real damage happen w/ a Depressed Ping Pong Fracture?

A

no, but it looks bad.

23
Q

Parotitis–what is this? What causes this?

A

infection of the parotid gland

**caused by calculus or mumps

24
Q

An ascending infection that goes into the parotid gland is called what?

A

terminal parotitis

25
Q

Is there pain w/ an adenocarcinoma of the parotid gland?

A

Yes.
