hamzah assliyah- that hamzah which comes on the 1st/2nd and 3rd root letter of a word eg. اَخَذَ
hamzah za’idah- that hamzah which doesn’t fall on the 1st/2nd and 3rd root letter of a word eg. اَكْرَمَ

this is when there is and increased letter in the ثلاثي or رباعي and is placed the scale as رباعي or خماسي
eg. جلب جلبب ~ this is mulhaq ba ruba’ee (ملحق بربعي)

that word which is place on the scale

the word which scale it is placed on

the scale of mulhaq and mulhaq bihi needs to be the same (it is necessary). This is the same for the masdar, it is necessary for the masdar of BOTH of the words to be the same, and there should be no change to the meaning of the mulhaq due to the ilhaq.

in mazeed fih, the meaning changes due to the increase of the letters, whereas in mulhaq the meaning doesn’t change due to the increase of letters because of the ilhaq ruling.
