Q

how do you chose where to place a quadrat

A

1) draw a map of area
2) overlay a grid on the map
3) use a random number generator to decide where the quadrat is placed.

Q

what is belt transect

A

this is similar to a line transect but gives information the abundance of species
quadrats are placed at set intervals along the line and numbers of each species are counted within them.
